Mepkin Abbey, located on the site of an old plantation outside of Monks Corner, SC, is home to The Trappist. Each year, they invite the public in to view a magnificent nativity exhibit during the Mepkin Creche Festival.

The Festival features nativity scenes from all over the world in pottery, bronze, straw, porcelain and many other mediums. Some of these creations are from Mepkin Abbey’s extensive collection while others are from private collections.

After leaving Mepkin, we will travel to Summerville for a lovely late lunch.

On the way home, a stop at the Artisan Center in Walterboro, will introduce you to juried works of South Carolina artisans.

Trip includes Transportation, Mepkin Abbey Creche Festival, lunch, Artisan Center, bus driver’s tip, snacks. Deadline: October 10, 2023. Full payment reserves your space.

Payment can be made two ways: You can charge through paypal by going to your paypal account and type in wkgtg77@gmail.com. That takes you to the weekend getaways on a tank of gas site were you can put in your credit card. The other way to make a payment is to send a check made payable to Weekend Get-Aways to Scottie Davis, 17 St Andrews Lane, Bluffton, SC 29909.

Cancellation policy: full refund until the deadline date - October 10, 2023. You can sell your space after that, but no refund.

The trip leaves from Bluffton at 8 am and returns by 7 pm
